#2: Boldy James - I Sold Dope All My Life

Detroit rapparen Boldy James kanske är ett rätt så okänt namn för de flesta. Det kan bero på att han hittills bara har släppt ett enda mixtape "Trapper's Alley: Pros & Cons", som kom ut 2011, för övrigt årets utan tvekan bästa mixtape. Det innehåller 28 spår inklusive några sköna skits från världens bästa TV-serie "The Wire". Det fräschaste, nyaste och skönaste inom hiphop just nu. Perfekta samples. Bättre än de flesta rappares album så har du inte lyssnat, gör det. Nu. Lyssna särskilt på ovanstående låt, Home Invasion, What's The Goody Bag, Killin' da 5th och Top Villain. Lyssna även på det klockrena skitet från "The Wire"; Applied Mathematics.

Första "singeln", eller vad man nu vill kalla det från mixtape, som även fick en video var I Sold Dope All My Life, något som i Boldys fall åtminstone verkar vara sant. Man skulle kunna säga att Boldy liknar Freddie Gibbs lite i det avseendet, Boldy har dock bättre beats, rapstil och skönare röst.

Årets fråga och spådom inför 2012? Eminem signar denna Detroitinvånare till Shady Records och gör en ny 50 Cent av honom (?!). Fullt möjligt om ni frågar mig och konstigt att det inte har nämnts hittills. Kanske slår den nyheten ner som en bomb någon gång under det kommande året? Watch it happen!

Second prediction for 2012: K'La gets her BIG break

Def Jam artist K'La will get her big break. She's like a cute version of Nicki Minaj and sings a lot better, BUT apparently also raps (!), which seems to be a good combo these days. Kolla videon med Roscoe Dash + bonus efter hoppet.

#7: The-Dream - Long Gone

That The-Dream is one of the most creative and unique artists today is nothing new. Nobody in modern R&B has a so unique sound of his own. In 2011 The-Dream released an album, 1977, under his real name Terius Nash. The album was available for free via his homepage, but that didn't stop from being one of the best albums this year. The album is just great from beginning to end with out no fill out tracks. "Long Gone" is the standout track with an infectious bass line with a spanish flamenco feel to it. The expectations for his next album "Love IV: Diary of A Mad Man" just hit the ceiling. Just listen to the song about his late mother "1977 (Miss You Still)" and you'll understand why.
